Here is my take on why I choose to be a Musketeer.
I havent gone to faires that much and when I did go in garb for the first time I did not understand how to put it all together so when I went to the Ocean Springs Ren Faire nobody came up to me to take my pic or even knew I was there. Oh some friends came up to me and said I looked good but it was not the same, everthing I had one was pieced together, a red vext, black jeans yes jeans of all things lol, mocians style boots and a nice hate that's all nothing more. I knew then I wanted to be seen since I do have other costumes I wear to cons yes I'm also a sci-fi and fantasy geek lol. I was watching a movie about the Musketeers and then it hit me that's what I will be I have always love the books about the musketeers so I started to learned about who they were and also learned what peeople wore long ago.
The time came when I went to the Louisiana Ren Faire wearing my musketeer garb when I knew I have found what I was looking for but I will be getting some earlyer pieord garb too. I also meet some wonderful friends from Texas, the Texas Musketeers and really feel in love with there tunics the BLACK ones lol so now I'm making me one. Thanks to Dronette de Sallanches and the others for making me feel right at home.
